First Time Spray Tanning? Everything You Need To Know To Achieve A Flawless, Even Tan

Spray tanning is the quickest way to get that natural, sunkissed glow without the sun damage. If it’s your first time, you probably have questions: When should I book? What do I wear? How long will it last? Let’s go through everything step by step so you can feel confident before, during, and after your appointment at Glow Parlour in Jannali.

How many days before your event should you book your spray tan?

Two days before your event is ideal. This gives your tan time to fully develop and settle, so it looks its most natural in photos and in person. For brides, we recommend a trial run a few weeks before, then your final tan two days before the wedding.

Spray Tan Prep | A few days before

Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise

Hydrated skin holds colour evenly. Start moisturising daily in the days leading up to your appointment, especially on dry areas like elbows, knees, and ankles.

Exfoliate

Exfoliate your skin 24 hours before your tan. This removes dead skin cells and helps your tan go on smoothly and fade evenly. Use an oil free scrub or an exfoliating mitt.

Remove any unwanted hair

Wax or shave at least 24 hours before your tan. Doing it on the day can cause patchiness and shorten the life of your colour.

Spray Tan Prep | On the day

Arrive with clean, product free skin. Skip deodorant, perfume, lotion, and makeup. Bring loose, dark clothing and sandals so your fresh colour can develop without streaks.

What To Wear To Your Spray Tan

Loose dresses, soft tees, or floaty pants are perfect. Avoid denim, tight waistbands, and bras right after your appointment. Sandals or thongs are best for your feet.

What To Expect At Your Spray Tan Appointment

Colour selection

We’ll chat with you about your event, your skin tone, and the look you’re after. Then we’ll customise your shade so it looks natural and suits you.

What should I wear during the spray tan?

It’s totally up to you. Many clients wear a disposable g string or nothing at all to avoid lines. Think about what you are wearing to your event and avoid anything that might leave tan lines that will show.

How long do I need to wait before showering?

Your technician will guide you, but most tans are rinsed after 2 to 8 hours depending on the formula. Use lukewarm water only, no soap, and gently pat dry afterwards.

How Long Does A Spray Tan Last?

A Glow Parlour tan usually lasts 7 to 10 days with the right care. Lighter results may fade a little sooner, while deeper shades can last longer.

Aftercare

  • Moisturise every morning and night with an oil free lotion.

  • Keep showers short and warm, not hot.

  • Avoid chlorine, spas, and long hot baths.

  • Do not exfoliate until you are ready for your next tan.

  • Pat skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing.
